That’s not to say that the Sharks looked like world beaters, they didn’t and allowed the Blue Bulls to keep in touch right up to the final 10 minutes of the match. However the Sharks faithful will be mighty pleased with the result that saw the Sharks running in five tries, something that has been a very rare sighting at ABSA Stadium of late.
Plumtree seemed to have got the positional changes right although they were many who questioned the playing of Pat Lambie out of position at inside centre. Lambie however went on the underline just why he is so revered and had a great game obviously enjoying being closer to the action.
However the greatest cheer went to left winger Lwazi Mvovo who was the most dynamic winger on the field showing thrilling pace and great strength out playing the much talked about Gerhard van den Heever , and he was good value for the two tries he scored.
The never say die Keegan Daniel also played with growing confidence scoring two tries with the final one coming from a neatly work chip and gather which rounded off a great match for the Sharks No. 8.
It was a huge result for the Sharks who suffered a terrible start to the Currie Cup when they went down to the rough and ready Griqua’s last week but this result has put them right back into contention as one of the favourites.
