Henson who has not played rugby since March 2009 and is on unpaid leave from his Welsh side the Ospreys has already accepted an invitation to play for the Baa Baas on December 4. "Obviously our invitation to Gavin will attract a lot of attention. He is conscious of the need for match fitness but we're confident that the Springbok midfield will be bamboozled by his quickstep (see what I did there?)" said the Barbarians contracts manager Mike Burton.
Yet Henson who seems more adept at perfecting his foxtrot will have to ensure he doesn’t progress too far in dancing if he is to face the ‘Boks. Baa-Baas registrar Alan Evans told BBC Radio Five Live: "We are going to monitor the situation closely. One of two things could happen - Gavin could turn out to be another (former England scrum-half) Matt Dawson and he'll still be dancing on December 4, and good luck to him with that.
"But what we have offered him is the opportunity - if he turns out to be more, shall we say, a (Welsh former boxer) Joe Calzaghe than a Matt Dawson in 'Strictly...' and he's out of it fairly early on, we think the situation with his rugby career will take a new turn and we would like to bring him on board and train him with our top-notch squad."
Rugby taking a back seat to dancing? As our very own PDivvy said " Do we want to be a part of [rugby], or do we want to go to the nearest ballet shop, get some nice tutus and get some dancing going on?

they take on the Boks at Twickenham later this year. However Henson is busy doing what he does best, the foxtrot in the UK’s Stricly Come Dancing reality show and if he gets to the final he is might not be able to get out of his tutu fast enough to play.
