Paul 'Skid' Marks Gets Red Card!

The one man who single handedly destroyed the Sharks last week by some dodgy decisions has been sacked! Paul Marks who should have awarded the Sharks a penalty try when Waratah’s Kurtley Beale deliberately knocked a pass from Terblanche down will not be blowing his whistle for a while.

SANZAR referees supremo Lyndon Bray has admitted that a penalty try against the ‘Tahs should have definitely been awarded to the Sharks. John Plumtree had been very vocal after the match expressing dismay at Skid Mark’s decisions which contributed to the Sharks languishing at the bottom of the Super 14 still looking for their first win. The referees selection trio of Aussie Andy Cole, SA's Tappe Henning and Colin Hawke from New Zealand voted to send Marks to the sin bin after reviewing his glaring inadequacies. Andy Cole says that Kanko would not have been stopped had he got the pass, "admittedly he had a fair bit of work to do, and we all know how quick Kankowski is...we believe the right decision was to award a penalty try."

Pro'zac' Legoete has also been told to hit the showers and sadly for the Sharks it was Legoete who took over the match they were playing against the Sharks and he seemed to deal heavy handedly with the Durbanites.

While it is about time that refs are dealt with and punished if they make a complete hash of proceedings, last weeks match for the Sharks will still go down in the books as a defeat. The moral victory will not help them move up the log.

What can I say but BBBBBEEEEEE. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for change, but "Prozac" is an embarrassment for SA refs. When is this Bull Sh!t going to stop??? It's 16 years on and we're still not only implementing quotas in teams but refs as well.

Gary Player - "the more I practice the luckier I get". I think the Sharks only have themselves to blame - you shouldnt be looking down the barrel of must win games this early in the super 14 competition.

Glad that the refs get the whistle too thou.

The fairest thing SANZAR could have done is to let Marks ref for all the teams so that they could all equally be disadvantaged. I agree with Okrite Marks didn't singlehandedly destroy the sharks, Kurtley did when he tried to knock the ball down with a single hand.

"one man who single handedly destroyed the Sharks last week" if that isn't biased I don't know what is. Take it like a man. If you given out LBW on 99 when you've got a think inside edge, you walk. Sharks/Saffa's are all the same.

This is the most unbiased website out there! If they were truly biased they would've defended Pro whateverhisnameis. I'm highly impressed with this website, finally someone with the balls to tell it how it is. Some fantastic points Ridaa. Great article as usual Rogue Summ.

Okrite not sure what you are on but the facts are that Marks was sacked not by justrugby.co.za but by SANZAR and the ref's selection panel of 1 aussie, 1 saffer and 1 kiwi..they all voted that Marks got it wrong.

Okrite SANZAR has sacked both Paul Marks and Pro Legoete, we are merely stating the facts. The fact that Paul Marks yellow carded Kurtley Beale means that he thought that it was a delibrate and cynical offense and thus he should have awarded the penalty try. He would still have a job if he didn't card Beale. Regardless of whether or not you or me think it was a penalty try or not the fact still remains that if Paul Marks thought it was worthy of a yellow card then he should have awarded a penalty try.

still don't think it was a penalty try. Can't we have some unbiased reporting on this blog. ST couldn't draw the man, and so waited too long to pass

"Zak" Legoete should have gone a long time ago. He is more of an embarrasment to South African rugby than Paul Marks is to Aussie Rugby. Legoete's head has grown incredibly large since been selected as a Super 14 ref to the point where he thinks himself a God, hell bent on unleashing his whistle on unsuspecting sides so that he can get his name into the papers. We've got to worry as a country who's produced the likes of Andre Watson and Jonathan Kaplan when we produce the dribble known as "Zak" Legoete.

Yeah you right Legoete and Marks two muppets who shouldn't be allowed to ref a school U13 match.
